Hughes Intelligence (Sarnia) has been in operation
since 1994. Starting out
as primarily a private investigations firm, H.I. has
over the years carefully integrated security into
its operations. Recognizing the need in both
the corporate and commercial communities for higher
risk protective services, H.I. began to assemble a
multi-national team of seasoned professionals with
military and law enforcement backgrounds to
compliment its existing team of investigative
specialists. Thus the Special Services Branch
was born. Upon receiving its
Security License, the Special Services Branch set a
short term (twelve month) objective of offering
close body protective services to clients in
Ontario. Within 2 months of attaining the
license, the SSB’s Close Protection team secured a
contract that employed nearly a dozen CP operatives
providing protective services over a 6 month period.
As a direct result of their professionalism and
dedication, the executive core of the SSB was
invited to attend a security summit held in the fall
of 2008 at the
US Chamber of Commerce,
Washington DC.
The Special Services Branch has
set a long term (five year) objective of
incorporating training and consulting services into
what is currently offered as well as extensively
expanding services to include security for
commercial and corporate events and driver training
services. Substantial steps have been taken to
ensure all of our personnel receive the most current
and appropriate training available in order to
provide unparalleled service in all areas of
personal and physical security.
In the spring of 2009, the SSB
was contracted by the
Canadian Security College,
a newly formed private career college located in
Ontario, to provide subject matter experts as
trainers for their certificate and diploma programs
to be held at their new tentative academic property
in south western Ontario.
